After three years at Mulberry, which saw him spearhead a store opening in Paris last month, and collaborations with pal Giles Deacon and Julie Verhoeven, Vevers is ready for a new challenge. LMVH, the luxury goods house that owns Loewe (as well as Louis Vuitton and Celine amongst others) said yesterday, "...we want to emphasize Loewe's strong point - leather goods - with someone who can make desirable handbags." And as we all know, Vevers is the man to do that. He takes up the post in January, and as of yet Mulberry has not appointed his successor. One thing is certain though. This time next year a Loewe tote will be on every fashionista's wish list.
