Temperley London and Gordons Gin are two of our favourite things. So imagine the delight at ELLE HQ when we discovered they were joining forces to produce a limited edition designer range, Ten Green Bottles, which features (you guessed it) ten bottles each given a unique Temperley makeover.
We caught up with Alice Temperley to get the lowdown as well as bagging an exclusive video showing how it all came together ahead of the collection launch in London tonight.
Well drink to that
Can you tell us a bit more about the prints you chose for the bottles?
Each print has been taken from our past collections, like my favourite Lotus print, taken from autumn/winter 2012 and based on a perfectly stored original 1920s shawl belonging to a distant relative who had an amazing textile collection. Others are based on a jewel print which is from jewellery I collected over the years, and beautiful feather water colour paintings; all elements of past prints.
What was the biggest challenge in creating the collection?
Having too many options. They are endless. We could have carried on with the whole paraphernalia around the ceremony of the drink decanters, more glasses, et cetera.
We know you as more of a cider than a gin girl what's your all-time favourite order at the bar?
With my upbringing on a cider farm Of course I am. But from working on this project, my new favourite is the Sky Blue Feather cocktail, which contains Gordons Gin, fresh lemon, gomme and lace and myrtle liqueur.
Obviously, a piece from the Ten Green Bottles collection would make an ideal gift. What was the best Christmas present you've ever received?< More
