Dame Viv has been busy. First it was a collaboration with The Cambridge Satchel Company which went on sale yesterday think bold prints in signature Westwood colours splashed all over the satchels which have become a regular fixture on the arms of the super stylish over the past few years.
Nothing gets us giddy quite like a harmonious collaboration between two designers we love so imagine our excitement when we found out she was also the latest designer to customise a capsule collection for iconic luggage label Globe-Trotter. The tartan-lined suitcases come with leather luggage belts and straps in Westwoods distinct squiggle print, and are finished off with foil embossed luggage tags. Thats got to be worth an upgrade in our minds. And thats not all. Globe-Trotter is just one of five brands handpicked by Westwood for the Vivienne Westwood ? collection, which is a celebration of quality, craftsmanship and British brands who pride themselves on being made in Britain. Gloverall, Johnstons of Elgin, Lock&Co and Pantherella are all part of the initiative thats head to toe were thinking.
And if that wasnt enough to keep her busy, she has also been keeping one eye on climate change too. Eco Poems is a mentoring scheme set up by the keen activist, who wanted to encourage young poets to write about the climate revolution, to not only draw attention to environmental issues but to also give young writers a platform to showcase their work.
Not a bad weeks work for a 72 year old. Were impressed.More
