Yet another thing to get excited about for autumn: Barbour wants to become your go-to for knitwear, with a little help from Bella Freud.
The designer has created a six-piece capsule collection of hoodies, sweaters and long-line knits (our favourite), each adorned with a different country motif, from lavender plants to lambs to falcons.
Freuds childhood spent in East Sussex, reading A.A. Milne was the starting point, were told.
When I was approached to collaborate on a knitwear collection for Barbour I thought about animals and plants that could look good as emblems for the Barbour brand, she explains. The images are a stylisation of some classic countryside creatures to create fashionable knitted pieces that are fun to wear.
The designs are classic Freud but, with prices from £89.50, they dont come with the usual hefty price tag.
Look out for them in stores later this month. We predict a sellout.More
