Red Boots Are The New White Boots

It seems like just yesterday we were trying to convince ourselves that investing in a pair of white boots wasn't the most impractical idea we'd ever had. But just as soon as we'd come to terms with buffing those scuffs, a new boot sauntered into town. She's less subdued, more fiery, and well, a lot easier to take care of. Red boots—in buttery calfskin or shiny patent, cropped neatly at the ankle or snaking up to the knee, square-heeled or nearly flat—serve as a dramatic punctuation mark on pretty much any outfit. The hot crimson is equally at home with denim and plaid, but also stands up to patterns, or can hang back when part of an all-red ensemble. At New York Fashion Week, style stars had also gotten the memo, taking red boots of every ilk straight to the streets.
