Famed for its politically charged advertising, Benettons new shots to celebrate its United Colors of Diversity collection bring things back to basics, with nine faces embodying nine key colours for a brand that built itself on just that: colour.
The campaign boasts a impressive fashion-world line-up. Charlotte Free leads the pack, with Lea T, Alek Wek and Elettra Wiedemann. Also onboard are Tunisian model Hanaa Ben Abdesslem and Keira Chaplin the actress granddaughter of Charlie while representing the boys are Matias Perdomo, Mario Gallo and Dudley OShaughnessey (the London model you might recognise as Rihannas love interest in the video for We Found Love).
Free may have made colour her style signature with that pink hair, but she admits that it presents unique challenges for her. I have synesthesia, so I relate to colours in different ways than other people do, she explains. Like yellow is three, red is four, blue is two, one is white.
Ive always had a thing that relates colours to sounds and textures and objects and things.
A limited edition T-shirt featuring the campaign images will be sold internationally to raise funds for Benettons charitable UNHATE foundation.
