Fashion forward jeweller Lara Bohinc
has created a new architectural range of baubles using the rare metal, Palladium; a lustrous white metal desired by jewellery designers for its unique features being light and strong. (And super rare). To celebrate the launch we caught up with Lydia Hearst who modelled the collection for the lookbook find out more . . .
ELLE: What attracted you to the Palladium campaign?
Lydia Hearst: I love London, so that was a huge benefit to me, to come back here [to shoot it] and the designs really are just so exquisite. Theyre large pieces, but theyre so incredibly unique. Each one has been so intricately made.
ELLE: What do you think of the designs?
Lydia Hearst: I absolutely love them. Although theyre heavy-looking and strong, when you put them on, theyre light and feminine. Just like a woman, I suppose.
ELLE: What are your favourite things to do while in London?
Lydia Hearst: Usually Im working, so I dont get to do very much. I stay in Soho and I love walking around there and going to museums. One of my favourite places is the Sir John Soane museum. Its so eclectic and fascinating, the way he collected pieces from all over the world, and really covered his house with his collection. And I love getting tea at the Wallace collection.
ELLE: Where are you going from here?
Lydia Hearst: Im going to Vienna for the Life Ball. Its one of the largest AIDS awareness and fundraising benefits in the world, and it is hosted by former president Bill Clinton in association with AMFAR. This is the 20th anniversary of the ball so its an exciting occasion!
