Choupette Lagerfeld, Twitter queen

Now it seems she’s grown into quite the exacting cat.

‘She has lunch and dinner with me on the table, with her own food,’ Lagerfeld told WWD. ‘She doesn't touch my food. She doesn't want to eat on the floor. She sleeps under a pillow and she even knows how to use an iPad.’

Though Lagerfeld dismissed the idea of ever dressing Choupette in Chanel—too ‘circus-like’—the cat does enjoy the luxury of two personal maids. ‘She’s beyond spoiled,’ Lagerfeld conceded.

She’s even a Twitter star. After Lagerfeld’s remarks about Choupette went public, someone started a Twitter account in the name of one Choupette Lagerfeld (@ChoupettesDiary, if you’re interested).

So what is Choupette thinking? Stuff like, ‘Maid, fetch me my freshly cut meat & crystal servingware MEOW!’ and ‘According to daddy I'm going through "an adolescent phase". What he doesn't know is that is isn't a phase, it's a lifestyle choice.’

Choupette’s 1,800 followers go to show that anything Chanel-related is like catnip to the fashion community. That, or we’re all more in thrall to cute cat pictures than we’d like to admit...
