The announcement, expected to come later today, coincides with the news that the second line from Alexander McQueen is also due to open its first stand alone store in London next spring. A Georgian townhouse on Dover Street has been chosen as the setting for the label, which was taken in-house at Alexander McQueen last year and has since been built into a fully independent collection overseen by Sarah Burton.
With the recent launch of a shoe line and a handbag collection launched for Resort 2012, expectations are running high for the brands progression over the next year. Last year as the brand was taken in-house, president and chief executive of Alexander McQueen Jonathan Akeroyd spoke to WWD about the plans for the label, saying, We always felt there was scope to create a brand that was more accessible and a little more edgy. Weve got a strong ambition for it.
We look forward to making it a new fixture in our diaries.More
