When I was starting out I remember Marc Jacobs saying, As long as the quality is great, then people can say its not their personal taste, but they cant say that its rubbish, Beckham said at WWDs Apparel and Retail CEO Summit, WWD reported. And thats very true.

The designer said her control-freak tendencies have been an asset when it comes to quality control. All of her design is in-house and she keeps a close eye on production of her main line in England.

Her approach has helped the company grow from nine stockists to more than 300 stores worldwide. But Beckham still keeps the same person in mind when creating collections as she did when she entered the fashion game.

Everything that I make, from glasses to a handbag to a dress, is something I would wear and carry myself, she said. People ask who my customer isI love to do in-store events with my retail partners, I love to meet my customers and get feedbackbut Im my customer.
