Colour-clash queen Louise Gray unveils her first knitwear collection for heritage cashmere brand Brora today.
Brora is a wonderful brand, with all knits produced in Scotlandwhich is so important to me, the Scottish designer told us. Its not an old brand, but stands for beautiful quality cashmere with a Scottish label.
Consisting of cardigans, wrist warmers, stoles, jumpers and beanies, the colour-banded and patchworked range invokes the same sense of delight as Grays riotous catwalk collections.
After meeting everyone at the factory, I wanted to try to mix in as many special details as possible and bring a new mix to the constructions and a fun feel to it all, Gray said. And so she has, with special details like marled wools and inside-out knit seams injecting the cashmere category with a dose of kooky cool.
Although Grey said shell wear the Sloppy Joe jumper over jeans and print dresses all winter, she promised that everyone will find something to love in the 11-item range.
There really are pieces for all. I can see my grandma in the ¾ cardigan, and my sisters would love the hats and fingerless gloves, she said.
So how should us non-Grays tap into the spirit of the line?
Wear as many combinations as possiblereally clashing looks make me happy. Its a great way to look individual.
