Trish Summerville, the costume designer behind The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, has created a capsule collection inspired by the film for H&M.
Taking cues from Millennium trilogy anti-heroine Lisbeth Salander, the 30-item range spans leather jackets, ripped jeans and hacker hoodies in blacks, greys and rust reds.
Salanders look is very real and lived in, with pieces that her character has worn for a long time, like her jackets that act as her armour to shield her from the world, Summerville said. I wanted the collection to have the essence and strength of Salander, with a fashion edge, and Im pleased with the result.
The line marks H&Ms first film collaboration and taps into global anticipation of the English-language adaptation of Dragon Tattoo, Steig Larssons best-selling thriller. The first of three films stars Rooney Mara as the disaffected Salander opposite Daniel Craig as investigative reporter Mikael Blomkvist. Mara, who previously appeared in The Social Network and Tanner Hall, beat out Kristen Stewart and Carey Mulligan for the role.
The collection will launch with a dedicated store-in-store at Colette in Paris on 28 November. Shoppers elsewhere can find the range online and in Divided departments at 180 H&M stores worldwide from 14 December.More
