Models Speak Out

They’re supposed to be perfectly proportioned blank canvases for the designers’ fantasies, but these genetically-blessed individuals are also the proud owners of such astounding things as a sense of humour, a set of opinions, and even, in some cases, an appetite (Karlie Kloss we’re looking at you).

So this charming video made by the people over at Models.com is a refreshing take on the mannequins after a month of blank catwalk stares. In the video, we meet a series of models at a casting call for Rodarte, where we discover that Jourdan Dunn likes to read on the toilet while Lindsay Wixson claims not to have any time to read at all. She does, however, have time to dream up an escape route if the world ever ends: she’s going to learn how to fly a plane so that she can jet away from all the danger. She doesn’t mention where exactly she’ll go though.

All-American model of the moment Karlie Kloss tells us her favourite smell in the whole world is freshly baked cookies coming out of the oven, and one model tells us her favourite artist is – um – Tom Hanks. But when asked whether she prefers American Football or Soccer, blonde bombshell Caroline Trentini is entirely nonplussed: “Hello? I’m from Brazil!”
