There is no better designer than Stella McCartney to create the visual aesthetic for the 2012 Olympics. More proof, if further was needed, was given at her spring summer show at Paris fashion week which had Alexa Chung and Salma Hayek front row.
Stella owns the trademark of modern sportswear. Her designs are so easy to wear, fresh, modern and, crucially, make you wish you were wearing it right now.
What we would rather be wearing today is paisley, oriental circles and Bouillard spots which formed the blueprint of the collection. Used on beautiful silk pyjama sets, quilted tops, mixed with airtex mesh on slip or stretch dresses and athletic shoulders to finish. The outline of the paisley shape cut into the edging of jackets and jumpsuits, reviving classics with it.
With a colour palette of Wedgewood blue and oyster it sang of summer giving an uplifting, optimistic start to the day. Gold medal standard.
