Antonio Berardi sure knows how to tailor a great dress and there were plenty to choose from amongst his latest offerings. For spring the girl he conjured up was a sort of romantic futurist. Wafting down the catwalk in a light and airy space on the south bank, she trailed chiffon behind her from underneath her glossy sliver jacket.
The first looks out were cream and silver before bolder shades of cerise and red were teamed with blush pink and mint green. Dresses were above the knees and made up of light as air fabrics splashed with metallics and panelled with plastic-coated leather, or strapless, empire-line and flowing. Cream trousers with stark panels of black of deep red running down the side appeared with neatly tailored blazers and sleeveless, round shouldered jackets.
There was a blend of texture too - leggings were encrusted with sequins were worn underneath a pale pink chiffon tunic, velvet and leather panels sat alongside silk and lace. And for the fans of his signature form-flattering dresses there were a clutch of body-hugging shifts with metallic bodice-shaped panels and floor length gowns with serious wow factor.
