Theyskens ups the ante for Theory

Oh, the brilliance is still there in abundance, the insouciant waft appeal of a fantastic leather jacket, double waistband jeans that give the impression of slouch without the unfortunate by-product of muffin tops and bottom cleavage. But in many pieces the level of workmanship was so intricate that prices are sure to rocket. The beaded bouclé swing dresses and coats could have been Chanel or Balmain. And that costs.

But for many shoppers in its stockists Selfridges, Harrods and the like this won't put them off. It should probably just be hiked up a floor to avoid unfair comparisons. Prices aside, it's a fabulous collection with leather parkas, chainmail vests and mesh cobweb dresses.

The models wore ridiculously high stripper heels which hampered their strut and didn't work with the grungy collection. When they returned for the finale, they had ditched them in favour of biker boots. So much more in tune with the aesthetic.
