When asked whether theres any chance for a third SATC movie, Parker responded:
There is. I know what the story is. Its a small story, but I think it should be told. The question is, whats the right time to tell it? she told PARADE
(Parker also addressed her departure from Halston Heritage
: I will say thisI loved the experience. Everyone said I was mad to [take on a creative role there], that it had been troubled. I cant tell you how much Ive learned about production and fit and fabrication, the whole business. I was deeply, deeply involved. It was a great experience and Im sorry it was shorter than I had hoped, but I dont regret the time.)
But back to SATC
: Parker's comments sound familiar. At the Cannes
Film Festival in May, she said
, I think there is perhaps one more small, important story to tell.
For a show that ended seven years ago, SATC still feels omnipresent in the ELLE team
s lives. One of us was riveted to the sofa when we stumbled upon the first film on TV two nights ago. Another of us lives with someone who, after years of refusing to sit still through a single episode (hello, male), went on a watching spree and then interrupted our weekend reading to say, I cant believe Big is leaving New York.
The show may be dated, it may depict a specific era, the second movie may have flopped because that eras values didnt translate to a starker recessionary momentbut
