The Lanvin creative director is one of a roster of bold-faced names participating in the event, this year curated by film director Mike Figgis. Figgis enticed luminaries in the fields of dance, film, philosophy, performance art, politicsand, of course, fashionto participate in the three-day festival of arts and ideas.
All activities, from Figgiss interviews with authors Siri Hustvedt and Paul Auster to a performance by flamenco artist Eva Yerbabuena, are based on the umbrella directive that everyone must Just Tell The Truth, Figgis said.
Im bringing together a cross-section of the cultural community for a weekend of aesthetic intercourse that will be shared with the public, Figgis said in a statement. Im intrigued to know what we all think about the state of the culture that we all exist in. For me, much of it is a mess.... And yet I constantly am discovering little gems, and my faith in humanity is still entirely positive.
In other fashion programming, Boudicca designers Zowie Broach and Brian Kirkby will revamp the Clore Studio into an ad-hoc fashion house. Guests will be invited to drop in and witness their creation of a couture-like design.
Elbaz will speak on Saturday, September 3 in Paul Hamlyn Hall at Covent Gardens Royal Opera House. Find out more here.
