The mark of an upper-crust lifestyle isnt limited to handbags and cars. Its also signalled through ones choice of a dentist, and Paris-based dentist Bernard Touati has risen to become the A-lists tooth-wrangler of choice.
Working from an office in Pariss Golden Triangle, with a direct view into the Dior showroom, Touati has tended to the teeth of clients as rarefied as Madonna, Dior CEO Sidney Toledano and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. When Diane Von Furstenberg saw him for a last-minute appointment, he refused to take payment, the NYTs T Magazine reported. The designer insisted on giving him him an IOU for two of her dresses.
Touati believes that what is essential is invisible to the eye, and that he, can look in someones mouth and know their life.
He also equates tooth care with couture ownership. Speaking of the quality of dental ceramicists in Europe, he says, We have people with real talentits like haute couture. Our prosthetics are known for that. As Chanel said: Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury.
