Jil Sander for Uniqlo is no more

High-street store Uniqlo has announced that its partnership with Jil Sander is coming to an end. Apparently the feeling on both sides is that they've achieved all they can together, and a statement from the Japanese brand says, 'With the recent completion of the design of the...fall and winter collection, Ms. Sander and [Uniqlo] agreed that they had fully explored the possibilities of their creative collaboration and accomplished what they had set out to do. Consequently, the two parties have decided to wrap up their design consulting agreement with this collection.'

We're disappointed, not least because we've already seen next season's collection and the boiled wool coats in navy and bottle green are some of the best that Sander has whipped up for the store so far. But the big question is what will Ms Sander do next? With no big label to her name and no collaboration under her belt, we're keeping our fingers croseed that she turns her hand to a new fashion-forward project soon.
