What better way to mark the summer solstice than with midday bellinis? Not for the stylish set any dawn rituals at Stonehenge. Instead, yesterday Erdem Moralioglu, Richard Nicoll, Roksanda Ilincic, Charlotte Dellal and Poppy Delevingne convened at Harrys Bar to toast Tania Fares and Lulu Kennedys second collection for Lulu & Co.
Talk among the 80 fashion-world guests mingling on the terrace turned to Glastonbury: who was going, who was hosting, and who was checking the weather report every 30 seconds. Then Henry Holland arrived, and talk turned to whether the polka-dotted shorts-wearing designer would be admitted to the Mayfair members club at all.
Special dispensation granted, the group swished into the dining room and found chairs at a white-linen-covered table, animated by arrangements of wine-red dahlias in fluoro-orange vases. Ilincic, straight from her Resort show in New York, and Nicoll led the applause as new MBE Sarah Mower took her seat.
