The star blogger created a compact line of clothing and accessories decorated with fanciful illustrations of women at another cocktail gathering, not unlike the one held to launch the collection.
‘We wanted to do a real meeting between the world of Kate Spade and my world,’ the ELLE contributor told us. ‘The idea to me was a cocktail party in Paris where everyone could meet. We don’t have cocktail parties in Paris—it’s a really New York thing.’
The cast of painted party guests includes girls in swing dresses, couples chatting and a Doré doppelganger. ‘This one smoking is kind of me. I have the same outfit and the high bun like that.’
The collaboration called on new skills for Doré. ‘It taught me a lot—like how to do a print. It’s not the same as an illustration on flat paper. I drew all the little figures separately, and then they put them together. It’s technical!’
Next up, she’s working on the next season of her web series, called Pardon my French. ‘It’s something new to me,’ she said. ‘I am a very lonely blogger, but now I am working with a team that I love.’
‘London is another city I could live in,’ she said. ‘There aren’t a lot, but I love it here.’
