Whether you like it or not, Google Glass is coming. And, while were down with idea of wearable technology, we cant be the only ones with qualms about how the thing will actually look on our face.
So its with relief that we hear the tech giant has hooked up with Luxottica the firm that holds the eyewear license for brands including and to expand its range of Glass silhouettes.
Around 10,000 people gained access to Glass as part of the Google Explorer Program (among them, Diane Von Furstenberg, who famously sent her models down her in it as Google co-founder Sergey Brin
looked on from the front row).
While the Luxottica deal wont form part of Glass long-time-coming public launch, it will work on all the design and distribution of all Glass-compatible frames going forward, the company has confirmed.
Speaking to WWD earlier this year, Google Glass lead designer Isabelle Olsson explained: Were making it a more natural part of your life. [Wearing Glass] will be easier with this, plus you have more choices.
Its a very natural extension of things that you already wear.
