Gwyneth smiles for Coach

When Coach decided to make its first steps into the international market, the all-American handbag brand needed an all-American face. Enter Gwyneth Paltrow, who looks fresh-faced and sun-drenched in her just-released European campaign.

Photographer Peter Lindbergh shot the ads on a midtown Manhattan rooftop. Paltrows polished New York style and the avenue retreating into the distance set the scenebut so does the Coach bag that the Oscar-winner (and London resident) clutches.

I grew up in New York City and Ive always thought of Coach as the quintessential New York brand, she has said. Ill never forget getting my first Coach bag.

Coach opened its store in Westfield shopping centre in March this year. The brand plans to open a European flagship on New Bond Street in September.

Gwyneth embodies American style and spirit around the globe, Jason Weisenfeld, a coach executive, told WWD. Coach is celebrating its 70th anniversary as an iconic American brand, so we couldnt ask for a better international ambassador than Gwyneth.
