Luxury fashion destination Harvey Nichols has announced Stacey Cartwright as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective 17 February. Until recently, Cartwright was Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Brit fashion giant , having joined the brand in 2004.

Cartwright is the second ex-Burberry female chief blazing a trail in recent months; ex-CEO Angela Ahrendts left the brand in October of last year to head up retail efforts at Apple.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on both of these female business powerhouses in 2014 as they step into their new roles. Both were integral to Burberry transformation in recent years, so are sure to shake things up this year.

Cartwright replaces Joseph Wan, who held the title at Harvey Nichols for 21 years and is set to retire in March.
