Following its announcement on Monday that Christophe Lemaire will be stepping down as artistic director on 1 October, Hermès has today revealed that Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski will be taking on the role for the fashion brand.

Her name may not be familiar to you but her clothes certainly will be – Vanhee-Cybulski, 36, has spent her career to date quietly designing for Maison Martin Margiela, Céline and The Row.

Chief executive officer of Hermès, Axel Dumas, is feeling more than positive about the new shift in direction.

‘Her talent and her creative track record will be great assets in the continued development of women's ready-to-wear,' he said in a statement. 'She will devote herself full-time to our house.’
