His and hers perfumes the future of fragrance
This autumn Karl Lagerfeld will be launching a his and hers fragrance, Kapsule, so you and your man can now smell the same - ahhh.
The trio of scents for men and women will be launched in October. Lagerfeld is huge fan of fragrance, reportedly dousing scents on his curtains, pillow covers and everything he wears. 'I love the world of perfumes' he told WWD, 'for me the world of fashion doesn’t exist without it'. As to why genderless fragrances? 'There is no gender in perfumes anymore,' he states. Kapsule is named after a capsule wardrobe of fragrances, with the first letter changed to K for Karl (natch). You can pick and mix from Light, Floriental and Woody and the bottles will be geometric, each with Lagerfeld’s signature etched on the bottom.
Meanwhile Jo Malone has taken it a step further. She will be launching the Pomegranate Noir Tasting Kit in perfect time for Christmas 2008. It comprises the popular Pomegrante Noir fragrance and also two top notes which you add in to customise it to you, be it for male or female, by making it more fruity or woody. This could just be the perfect gift for tough to buy for stylish couples. Christmas list sorted.

While the big shows are yet to happen and most of the fashion pack is still on their way to Manhattan, New York Fashion Week officially opened last night.
The city's hottest fashion name, British export Agyness Deyn, was on hand to start the proceedings by co-hosting a party at British auction house Christies with Thierry Mugler, to mark the start of fashion week and showcase Christie's Post War and Contemporary Art, Impressionist & Modern Art and Resurrection: Avant Garde Fashion pieces.
Today, things kick off in earnest with Erin Fetherston and BCBG Max Azria showing, both bound to garner a clutch of celebrity front row fans.
Victoria Beckham's new fashion line also debuted yesterday. She won't be having a catwalk show, but she will be revealing her first womenswear collection to editors and store buyers during New York Fashion Week, and yesterday fashion industry bible Women's Wear Daily had the first look.
"Structure is an important word to use when discussing my collection," she told WWD. "The corsets and belts that have been incorporated into my dresses have been made in such a way that they are comfortable and supportive. My clothes are designed for women from a woman's perspective."
She was not however in New York for the preview. Instead she was entertaining her sons Cruz and Romeo, and their friends (including Kingston Rossdale and Leni Klum) at a fancy dress party for Romeo's sixth birthday at Universal Studios.
Though we're sure she will be in New York by Monday!
