The China born, London based designer has four collections under his belt and a feminine fusion of Eastern culture with Western influences is fast becoming his signature. Zhang studied fashion design and pattern cutting at Central Saint Martins and spent a year working at Dior, and the high fashion influence shows in the sophisticated polish of his pretty panelled mini dresses and beautifully tailored coats.
All in all hes a worthy contender for the prize. But will he win? In our never-seen-before application video below, he explains why he should.
The Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize is a £25,000 award that will be awarded on 29 October, after consideration by an judging panel.
