Emma Hill has done an outstanding job working to make Mulberry's clothing as big a story as its bags. There's no need to labour how hard a task that is for a handbag label.
Like Luella , Hill's inspirations have been of upper class English eccentrics who are slightly bonkers. For Autumn/Winter 2010, the Mulberry girl is "fabulous, ferocious and floral". Tomato, oxblood, bright blue and lime mix with metallics and neutrals to form a rich and quirky collection.
The poacher jacket is reinvented in sheepskin (everywhere for a/w 10), dolly skirts are flirty and the relatively new shoe collection has grown to cover everything from ballerina pumps and knee-highs to show boots.
And the bags? Take note, the Greta is the one to put your name down for now. You know the storm the Alexa caused...
