The Isabel Marant label has lept from being Paris' best kept secret, to a name well known among fashion lovers, with the launch of the Marant wedge sneaker giving the label a new cult status, and many more customers in return.

As a result, the label has outgrown its Paris headquarters, and the designer is planning to open a new head office for her burgeoning brand. Retail expansion is also on the horizon with six new shops to follow.

All eyes will be on Marant's show which takes place during Paris Fashion Week today, but despite the rise of the label's mainstream appeal, Marant's ambitions for her eponymous brand remain restrained.

“I have no desire to become a multinational,” she told WWD. "“Our development is very targeted, very precise, with a clear idea of where we want to open boutiques and in which geographical regions we want to be present.”
