Six months after Jil Sander stepped down from her eponymous label for the third time, a new creative director has been appointed: Rodolfo Paglialunga.

The Italian started his career at Romeo Gigli before working at Prada and, most recently and notably, worked as the Creative Director of until 2011. He’s getting straight to work – the s/s 2015 collection, presented in September, will be his first for the fashion house.

In a statement released this morning Paglialunga says, ‘I’m deeply honored to have the opportunity to take on this role. I have boundless admiration for the brand as I strongly believe in its pure vision and values. My aim is to carry forward the fusion between sophistication, luxury and innovation and bring the house into the next level.’

His appointment marks the latest change in what has been a tumultuous few years at the house, from Raf Simons’ departure in 2012 to Jil Sander’s brief return and a season designed by the in-house team.
