Did John Galliano pull out of Parsons interview because he is lining up a TV one instead?

Reports suggest that Galliano is in ‘early stage’ talks to agree an appearance on Charlie Rose: a US talk show renowned for its forthright treatment of politicians and fashion world heavy hitters. So no Lance Armstrong-style weeping on the sofa, then.

Galliano’s publicist, Liz Rosenberg, has dismissed the rumour, telling WWD, ‘there are no plans in place regarding TV appearances for John at this time’. Yvette Vega, Charlie Rose executive producer, said an appearance has not been scheduled, but did not dismiss the possibility of an interview in the future.

‘We are open to interviewing people whose views represent a wide range of opinions, from Bashar al-Assad to Bono,’ she said.

Previous Charlie Rose guests have included Hilary Clinton, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs.
