Last month, ELLEs publisher, Hearst Magazines UK, announced the launch of Hearst Empowering Women: a major editorial initiative aimed at supporting and celebrating the achievements of British women. (Hopefully, you've already booked your tickets to hear Hearst editors among them, ELLE's Lorraine Candy talk about women, work and ambition.)
And today, we're adding an exciting new element to our campaign a creative contest.
The aim? To raise awareness about the lack of female creatives in the UK advertising industry. More than 75% of all copywriters and art directions in IPA member agencies in the UK are male; only 14% of digital creatives are women; and only 3% of senior agency creative worldwide are women.
In order to try and redress the balance, we are inviting female creatives in the UK of all levels to submit a creative pitch entitled Empowering Women.
The winners will have their work showcased in our print and digital offerings in June next year.
