Saunders moved on his vision of ultimate femininity with 40s knee-length pencil dresses in fabric containing print and block colour that almost tricks the eye in to thinking it's a two-piece. There were none of the frivolous flirty shapes from SS11, these were languid sheaths with side splits. Refined and sexy. There was also a glimpse of his menswear offering - nods of approval from the female-heavy crowd meant this is set to be on every husband's gift list.
Elegance prevailed in gathered chiffon swathes atop fitted dresses and sequin panels on layers of tulle. The ELLE team proclaimed it their favourite ever Saunders show.
