Model, coding entrepreneur and all round ELLE UK fave Karlie Kloss has signed on to guest edit our Tech Trailblazers issue.

As part of the ELLE X KLOSSY collaboration, her mission has been to draw attention to the enormous gender gulf that still exists in the technology sphere.

To go some way to close this gap, Karlie sought out six of the most inspiring, successful and just generally interesting women in the tech industry - tech trailblazers if you will - and solicited their very best advice, in the hope that we might impart it to future generations of young women.

Pick up your copy of the March issue on Feb 4, but in the mean time, here are the top ten tips from our leading women as collected by Karlie:

1.    Be open to change

"Don't be afraid to learn on the job. No matter how much preparation you've done, the tech industry is changing so fast that we're all learning every day." Marne Levine - Chief Operating Officer of Instagram

"Reward out-of-the-box thinking. I often ask my team, 'If no one showed you how to do your job, how would you be doing it right?" Sara Blakely - Inventor, Founder and Owner of Spanx, the high-tech underwear brand.

3.    Own your mistakes

"Don't fear apologising to your team. That will give them the confi

dence that you're invested in their career and not just their job." Kamakshi Sivaramakrishnan - Founder and CEO of Drawbridge, the digital branding company.

4.    Understand your team

"When I was at school, one of my teachers had two statements hanging from the board all year: 'Be observant' and 'Be empathetic.' Having the ability to relate to people is such an important part of management and leadership." Marne Levine - Chief Operating Officer of Instagram

8.    Be honest

"Be honest and tell it like it is. Not every day is rosy." Anne Wojcicki - CEO and Co-Founder of 23andme, the DNA tracking company
