Kate Hudson: rock wife, role model, secret calorie counter... And ELLE’s May cover star.

The blond bombshell, whose new film The Reluctant Fundamentalist is out next month, is poised and perfect in on the front of our new issue, photographed by Benny Horne.

Writer Louise Gannon spent the day with Kate, an LA girl turned adopted Brit, to talk about work, marriage, tea and falling pregnant with son Bingham just two months into her relationship with Muse frontman Matt Bellamy.

‘I knew it would take a strong man to deal with it. You know that with a relationship, things can go either way when you have a child,’ said Kate, who’s also mother to son Ryder, nine, from her previous marriage to Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson. ‘When you get pregnant everything changes; you, your body. Everything becomes a big decision. But he was there and that was that. Now it’s three wonderful years later. Things happen for a reason.’
