Katie Opens Up About Closure of Holmes & Yang

By Tamsin Crimmens

Actress, mother, designer and now an ELLE cover star too; Katie Holmes has certainly had her work cut out for her since leaving Dawson’s Creek over a decade ago.

With a burgeoning career and a young daughter to juggle we can hardly blame her for the closure of her fashion label Holmes & Yang, which she started with her longtime stylist and friend Jeanne Yang.

Speaking exclusively to ELLE she said,

"I loved every minute of my time working on Holmes & Yang. I remain passionate about the design aesthetic we created, and am so happy with what Jeanne and I accomplished. However I am now concentrating on acting and motherhood, which did not leave the label the time and attention it deserved. I'm really thrilled that the final showcase for Holmes & Yang is in ELLE – I had a blast at my shoot for the magazine. It is fantastic to feel like it's ending on a high."

So, what’s next for the brunette beauty? Don’t miss the April issue of ELLE where she tells us all about a renewed focus on acting and talks candidly about motherhood and life after Joey and Pacey.

And that’s not all. Our April issue is a feast of the very best fashion and beauty that will have you skipping your way into Spring. A tribute to denim, it has everything you need to know about how to wear your denim right now. There are spring coats, kaleidoscopic accessories, pleats and plenty of Prada. And don’t miss all the celebrity gossip from the ELLE Style Awards.

Hair in need of a rescue? We’ve got that too. Alongside beauty notes on the no-make-up make-up and how to get the perfect sunless glow, every issue of April ELLE comes with a free Percy & Reed Wonder Balm, worth £18. Now that’s what we call a good deal.
