Tributes poured in from the world of fashion and celebrity following the news that fashion designer and former model L'Wren Scott was found dead in her New york apartment yesterday.

Scott, 49, was Mick Jagger's long-term girlfriend. The rocker, who was in Perth, Australia when he received the news has since cancelled the concert he was there for. A spokesperson for Jagger said he was, 'completely shocked and devastated'.

Jagger's former wife Bianca tweeted saying, 'Heartbroken to learn of the loss of the lovely and talented L'Wren Scott. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. May she rest in peace'.

While Naomi Campbell paid her respects to the former model, 'I am deeply shocked and devastated by the news.

'L'Wren was someone I knew since I was 17. We travelled the world together many times. L'Wren was someone I always loved. She was the epitome of elegance and femininity yet still had a girlish quality.

'I will miss her honesty and I will miss her friendship. My heart goes out to Mick and all who loved her and were loved by her. May she rest in peace.'
Pop singer Lily Allen tweeted to say, 'I have just got off a plane and heard the sad news of L'Wrens passing. What a terrible tragedy, I'm in shock. I saw her at the hairdressers only the other day.'

Fellow fashion designer Marc Jacobs tweeted to say, 'Rest in peace, L'Wren Scott. You'll forever be missed.'

'Devastated to hear about L'wren Scott. What a loss to the world. Such an inspired woman. She dressed the feminine form unlike any other' tweeted Daisy Lowe.
Fellow fashion devotee Sarah Jessica Parker revealed, 'There was a delight to her that is hard to imagine extinguished.

'She didn’t reveal another side to me but of course we are all complex as human beings and I wouldn’t have claimed to be privy to that other part of late. She had discipline, skill and talent and the recognition was an enormous source of pride for her because she waited so long and worked so diligently.'
