Aubin & Wills may be shutting up shop for good at the end of the year, but they seem determined to go out with a bang.
The more mature sibling of Jack Wills has released a star-studded Christmas campaign video featuring Blur’s former bass player Alex James and model Liberty Ross; the perfect choices for a quintessentially British brand.
For most of the video, the glamorous Brits float around a slightly dilapidated stately home in pieces from the latest (and last) collection, to a soundtrack of a Blue Rose Code version of the Christmas carol God rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. The Arran knits and preppy blouses that the brand has become most well-known for get an outing; with snow, festive candles and owls also making an appearance in this moody and emotional farewell to the brand.
The company announced it was closing the doors to its 12 Aubin & Wills stores last month, citing the faster international growth of Jack Wills as the reason. But at least with a final campaign video like this, they can say they went out with style...
