The newly married Duchess of Cambridge wore LK Bennett’s patent leather and raffia wedges in the days preceding and following her wedding to Prince William (wedges are the ideal shoe type for walking across the Buckingham Palace lawn to a waiting copter, don’t you think?).
The shoes were part of LK Bennett’s Spring 2010 collection, but the chain is reissuing the style in light of the Duchess’s royal endorsement. Originally called the Greta wedge, they’re newly renamed the Kate. Three guesses as to why.
Meanwhile, Middleton won’t need her beloved wedges—or any shoes, really—for the next couple of weeks. She and William took a private jet to the Seychelles last night, arriving at the Indian Ocean country’s main airport just after 7:00 this morning before transferring to a private island where they will spend the next ten days.
The Kate wedges will be available in store and on LK Bennett’s website from early June. Chelsy Davy, get your name on that waiting list.
