The living embodiment of the Marant girl (as well as the hoards of wannabes) is long time collaborating stylist Emmanuelle Alt who gave up her assistance upon taking the role of Editor-in-Chief at Paris Vogue. As Karl Lagerfeld said of Alt earlier in the year, "her style is big shoulders, long legs, tight jeans, sleeves up to the elbow, one hip out". Without Alt's imput, the same is happily still said of Isabel Marant's spring summer 2012 collection.
Shoulders are still prominent, jutting from ethnic mirror-embellished gilets, jeans tighter than ever all patchworked and frayed, and last season's Navajo makes another appearance in chunky multi-colour weave hoodies.
The hit item of next season? It could be argued that the numbered soccer player tees and check shirts are perhaps a little too accessible and can probably already be found in many high street stores. But the smart money is surely on the silver dresses, you'd be hard pushed to find that standard of fabric on Oxford street.
