Mary K goes to the ICA

The designer worked with artist Pablo Bronstein, who created a cross-gallery exhibition of architectural interventions inspired by Britain’s Regency era. As part of , Bronstein choreographed art and ballet performances to enliven his sculptures and wall-sized architectural graphics.

Katrantzou stepped in to provide the dancers’ costumes, one each for the daytime and evening performances. Both are adorned with Katrantzou’s trademark digital prints. The morning costume is golden, with an image of a gilded clock, while the evening costume adds to its chiffon-skirted ballet silhouette a Katrantzou twist: a digitally printed Regency building on the bodice. The costume 'creates a sense of voyeurism through the window that frames the dancer's torso,' Katrantzou said.
