Italian sportswear brand Superga seems to be giving itself a high fashion makeover. Once a cult go-to for comfy and stylish sneakers for those in the know, this year its upped its profile - and its fashion credentials - massively.
Back in March it unveiled Alexa Chung as the face of its latest collection, propelling it onto the must-buy list of her army of fashion followers everywhere. And now the brand has announced the appointment of two familiar creative directors Stateside - Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.
The duo have been tapped by Steve Madden, owner of the U.S. Superga rights and collaborator on the Elizabeth and James line of shoes. According to WWD the pairing will result in a collection of footwear entitled The Row for Superga, as well as an Olsen stamp on all the mainline offerings.
