The ten-piece collection is Katrantzou’s widest-reaching for the high-street retailer, extending from boldly printed scarves to statement-making, runway-calibre dresses.
‘It's very exciting to work with Topshop for our third range together,’ Katrantzou said. They've been so supportive of my work from the very beginning and this range will be the most ambitious one we've done and the most fun!’
The garments were produced using the same structural techniques and similar fabric weights to Katrantzou’s catwalk collection. Complex designs from her mainline, such as the Faberge Egg-inspired Jewel Tree dress from the autumn-winter ’11 collection, can cost as much as $14,200. In contrast, the Topshop collection starts at £40 for the Blue Jersey Leggings, rising to £350 for the Pheasant Dream dress, the jewel of the collection.
‘My idea behind the collaboration was to design for the Topshop girl a range that is as close to the aesthetic of my mainline as possible, with great control over the quality of design and production. I can't wait to see the Topshop girls in the bowl dresses and for the most daring to see them try the print on print layering!’
Find the collection in Topshop stores from 17 February.
