We revealed yesterday that Hedi Slimane is planning a cast of new faces; up and coming young models in other words, for his much-anticipated inaugural Saint Laurent show at Paris Fashion Week on Monday night. Now, Telegraph Fashion has reported that a very famous name will be among them.
You may not know Lily McMenamy, though youll almost certainly be familiar with her supermodel mother Kristen. She of the bewitching white hair, the towering proportions and muse to many a high fashion designer, most recently Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen. She was called upon to close the McQ show for autumn winter 2012 in a magical forest of fallen leaves, for example, and made for an imposing bride to close Karl Lagerfelds Chanel haute couture show in January of this year.
Kristen McMenamy was the name to book throughout the Eighties and Nineties and is still making fashion waves; she sparked a recent trend for grey hair by refusing to dye her impressive locks.
Those are some big shoes for Lily to step into, so to speak.
