The newest faces of Burberry are both names to know in their fields. Wilde, tipped as a Rising Star in our July 2012 issue, made her first screen appearance in St Trinian’s 2. The actress was recently cast in the Carrie remake with Julianne Moore and Chloe Moretz. Panes has recorded for Burberry Acoustic.
‘We wanted to play with everything that’s at the heart of the Burberry world—celebrating our brand and London through imagery, film, music, weather and our iconic outerwear, all in a very poetic and British way,’ Burberry Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey said.
‘Using London as the backdrop, we shot the series of cinematic, emotive black and white images and short films with the incredibly talented Gabriella Wilde and Roo Panes, who effortlessly bring the campaign and our collections to life across all of our platforms.’
Mario Testino photographed Wilde and Panes at Greenwich’s Royal Naval College, the official equestrian competition venue for the upcoming London 2012 Olympics. The shoot, complete with smoke, rain and fog machines and a Hollywood director of photography, is Burberry’s most film-like to date.
Almost makes you long for a cool, foggy night, doesn’t it?
