Mollie King already had the supermodel boyfriend (she reunited with David Gandy in October) – now, she’s had a high fashion make-under, too.
The Saturdays singer looks virtually unrecognisable in a new shoot for Because.com, the digital arm of Tank Magazine, styled by Sara Gilmour.
‘Mollie first caught my eye when we were introduced at a fashion event earlier this year,’ Because founder and industry maven Caroline Issa explains about how their collaboration came about.
‘She has a versatility to her that I didn’t feel had been explored, so I was excited to work with her on Because.com to show her adaptability and to create a new look.’
There’s a touch of the Agyness Deyns (circa 2006) about Mollie, who is signed to Next Management, in the stripped-back black-and-white shots, which were the work of photographer Fernando Uceda - a far cry from her usually glossy pop persona.
Adds Issa: ’We’re delighted with the results.
‘Her energy, curiosity and openness are all the key ingredients a style icon in the making needs, and we predict big things for Ms King in 2015.'
