Jeffry Aronsson, a corporate recovery expert who took the helm in June, is understood to have returned to New York and resumed work at his own Aronsson Group.
Ungaro representatives told WWD that ‘Mr Aronsson is still the acting ceo of Ungaro’, but the paper said Aronsson has not spent time in Paris, where Ungaro is headquartered, for several weeks.
If confirmed, Aronsson’s exit after just six months represents another wrinkle in the house’s fortunes. Designers to have passed through the revolving door of the house’s top spot include Vincent Darré, Peter Dundas, Esteban Cortazar and Giles Deacon, who left his post in September this year after designing two collections.
