Switch off, leave twenty-first century distractions at the door and enjoy the sound of silence with Selfridges as it kicks off 2013 with No Noise, a shopping experience promoting quiet and calm.
The re-launch of the legendary Silence Room – a haven of quiet first introduced in 1909 by Selfridges’ founder, Harry Gordon Selfridge (currently starring in his own ITV drama series on Sunday nights) – and a specially curated concept space filled with exclusive de-branded products (all logos have been removed) including Heinz baked beans and Crème del la Mer, are highlights.
And look out for special window installations created by conceptual artist Katie Paterson who features in the Hayward Gallery’s upcoming exhibition Light Show.
Less is more. And no name Marmite makes us smile.
Visit No Noise at Selfridges, London from 11 January until the end of February.
