The show opened to Gaga smoking a cigarette and striking a pose against a column, wearing a black PVC costume with a sheer top, statement side ponytails and a tricorne hat. Models walked around her like extras as she raised an affectionate claw to the audience.
Later, the Lady returned in a full-length white corset gown and lampshade hat, whipping a long piece of chiffon as she walked. She paused to hump a column on her walk back up the runway...
The intervening show had all the excitement and energy of a Super-era extravaganza, with models dancing, growling and generally vamping their ways down the catwalk. We feel compelled to offer a special tip of the hat to ELLE Model of the Year Coco Rocha for her work in this department -- get it, girl!
Along with Gaga and Rocha, the stellar cast included Alek Wek, Joan Smalls and Jessica Stam.
And the clothes? Black and white, with shots of ultramarine and precarious platform shoes. Apparently, the models were so taken with the samples that Formichetti stationed guards backstage to prevent anyone from doing a runner with catwalk looks.
Not that we blame them for trying -- who wouldn't want a souvenir from this once-in-a-PFW experience?
